Adapted to a place. Not to fads or tastes. Nothing here is embellished – and certainly not intended. The Honigberg simply is. And wants to be nothing else. So simple – and yet so difficult.
 
The Honigberg site was first mentioned in documents in 1740. Back then, it was the so-called Hunnic grape varieties that took root here. Then as much as now an extraordinary place – in the family for six generations. It leaves one feeling both humble and filled with awe.
 
Facing southwest, with a gradient of 30 to 50% and elevations between 190 and 240 meters, the Honigberg lies between the Appenheimer Hundertgulden and the Nieder-Hilbersheimer Steinacker. From here, the view opens across the entire valley. The Honigberg is our heart: 1.76 hectares of Riesling on tertiary limestone and calcareous loam, interspersed with ironstone and iron-rich tropical soils.
 
The grapes are harvested late and fully ripe – selected with the utmost meticulousness. Pressing is gentle; aging takes place in traditional wooden barrels. Time and hardly any intervention: That is all the Honigberg needs to give its Rieslings the structure, spice and mineral character they have carried within them from the very first day.
 
Complex, long-lived and rare – this wine is what the Honigberg can be and aims to be.

It is a high-altitude, terraced vineyard site at the edge of the forest near Nieder-Hilbersheim – cool, restrained, yet with an even stronger character. Like that of Grandma Magda, who acquired this site herself. It was first mentioned in 1362. Its western to northwestern exposure ensures cool air and slow ripening. The climate remains balanced even in warm years. Harvest takes place late.
 
The soil is characterized by limestone and clay marl, interspersed with iron inclusions. Deep down in the ground there are springs supplying the vines with water. The wine that emerges from these conditions is serious and multilayered, complex and yet dense.

Spare, powerful and steeped in history. The Hundertgulden was first mentioned in documents as early as 1148 and is one of Rheinhessen’s iconic Riesling sites. South-southwest above the Welzbach valley, it rests on a hilltop. Open, caressed by the wind, and up to 240 meters above sea level.
 
Exceptionally rich in limestone and almost bare, Hundertgulden is Germany’s most limestone-rich vineyard. You can see it in the light-gray rock, the massive slabs of pure stone. A wine that is clear, salty and full of structure. Distinctive, like the soil it grows on.

Riesling with power and poise – uncompromising, long-lived and full of energy.

In 1326, the site above the Laurenziberg was still called “Bergen”; later it was named after the old chapel situated on the small hill. A quiet place full of history, from which you can look toward the Goldberg and the Hundertgulden.
 
The vineyard site stretches across south to southeast-facing slopes with a 15–35% gradient, at 170 to 230 meters above sea level. The grapes benefit from the sun, but also from the cool air that moves through the valley here. The soil is characterized by calcareous loess-loam with a deep, well-developed subsoil. Veins of limestone lend the wines structure, length and a delicate, mineral spiciness.
 
Ideal for tightly built, clear Rieslings that bring both power and precision – yellow fruit, an intense character and saline tension. The Laurenzikapelle is future outlook, history, and living soil. As a matter of course.

In 1316, this west-facing vineyard site – situated up to 240 meters above sea level with an incline of up to 20% – was still known as “Golde”; from 1844 onwards, it was called “Goldberg”. Open, light-filled and warm, this site particularly loves the evening hours.

The soil is characterized by limestone, clay marl and clayey loam. A combination that ensures good water retention and a fine supply of nutrients. Especially in dry years.

Powerful wines are produced here, with a dense structure. Gripping, with ripe aromas of tropical fruit, complemented by subtle spiciness. The wine’s profile remains clear, without ever being loud.

This site was first recorded on Prussian vineyard maps in 1820. It stretches across the southern and south-eastern slopes of the Wethbach Valley – a side valley of the Welzbachtal Valley. Situated at 190 to 240 meters above sea level and with gradients of up to 30%, the site is open to the sun and well ventilated. The balanced microclimate ensures even ripening and a stable acidity structure. The soils are shaped by calcareous loam, clay, limestone and calcareous sand. A combination full of tension, depth and elegance.

Eselspfad means, above all: Density, filigree finesse, structure, precision, complexity and inner calm. A style that doesn’t seek but finds.

This small, isolated elevation right next to the Honigberg is something special. Facing west to northwest, at an altitude of 210–235 meters above sea level and with a gradient of 20–25%, it embodies openness – on soil composed of iron ore, clay and limestone.

The result is profound, powerful and mineral-driven. And it is Chardonnay –characterized by delicate reduction, underpinned by limestone and iron.

This promises, above all, structure and depth. As precise and as clear as possible.
