Since 1529, our family has lived in the Welzbach Valley around the Westerberg hill. We have been making wine since the 19th century – so we’ve been here for quite a while. This place has always been enough for us. Here is where we strive to do things well. Here is where we intend to stay. We look upward as much as downward. Into the future and into the past. It is in wine that we express our innermost selves, free ourselves from any superficiality and draw closer to the soil entrusted to us – and thus to our origins. With deep respect for what defines the Welzbach Valley and what our ancestors once saw in it.

The best is always the sum of many small things – free of half-heartedness, and anything but coincidence. For us, it’s not about being loud; it’s far more about sensitivity, patience and consistency. This is how – and in no other way – we want to do this place justice: Timeless, elegant, unmanipulated, and as natural as possible.
